Final Essay!
South Central has good things and also bad. What’s good about South Central is that we are all united in a way. Many things can improve like the amount of violence and graffiti. I enjoy living in South Central. Even though there is a lot of crime I can be able to control my actions.
The three most important events that have the greatest impact on making South Central L.A the way it is today are Gang History , Crack Epidemic , and Immigration. Gang History impacted South Central because gangs first began by protecting the community from white terrorism that occurred in South Central. This is important because gangs back then was for the peoples protection and know they are just killing each other. This is because the CIA stopped the protective gangs because they were afraid to loose power. They created a group also known as COINTELPRO. They made officers kill the members or arrest them and make them guilty for things they never did. They will kill members fro either group “Black Panthers” or “Brown Berets.” Until the assassination of “Bunchy” Carter the groups fell apart.
The second event that affected South Central was the Crack Epidemic. This was the time when the drug crack cocaine was the most expensive drug. A guy name “Freeway ” Ricky Ross introduced a less expensive version of crack cocaine. The question people asked was were did he get the drugs from? The answer is the CIA. The CIA brought the drugs to another drug dealer that had a connection with “Freeway” Ricky Ross. The CIA did this to help the Sandistas which were the ones leading the revolution against Nicaraguans. “Freeway” Ricky Ross did his job by selling the drug to South Central. The drug had a long term effect. The crime rate and incarceration rate increased rapidly. This was all do to the U.S government being so corrupt.
The third and last event was Immigration. Immigration was due to the many revolutions that occurred throughout the world. Civilians came to the U.S because they felt they’re was more freedom and opportunity. They were also tired of the amount of violence that occurred during the revolution. The population of the U.S has increased rapidly because of Immigration.
The three events affected South Central because South Central crime rates have increased due to the CIA and Governments greediness. Incarceration rates have increased and also graffiti crime. It is possible for South Central to change. As a matter of fact it is changing. The crime rates have decreased to a minimum which is GOOD. South Central is improving year by year but is the CIA going to get involved this time?…
